DAY 1: Arrival in Lima

Upon arrival in Lima, the capital of Peru, you’ll be welcomed at the airport and taken to your hotel. This day is perfect to rest after your flight, or if you’re feeling energetic, you can explore the Miraflores area, enjoy Peruvian cuisine, or stroll through the bohemian district of Barranco.

DAY 2: Flight to Cusco & Acclimatization

• Flight from Lima to Cusco.

• Free day to acclimatize.

Description:

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for a short flight to Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire. Upon arrival, you'll head to your hotel to rest and begin acclimatizing to the altitude (3,400 m / 11,155 ft). The afternoon is free to take it slow: sip coca tea, visit San Pedro Market, or walk around the colonial city center.

DAY 3: Sacred Valley Tour + Train to Aguas Calientes

• Visit to Pisac ruins and artisan market.

• Visit to Ollantaytambo fortress.

• Train to Aguas Calientes.

Description:

Today, you’ll explore the breathtaking Sacred Valley of the Incas. Begin with a visit to the Pisac archaeological site perched high on the mountain, followed by its vibrant artisan market. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

Later, you’ll head to Ollantaytambo to explore its impressive fortress and charming cobbled streets. If time and conditions allow, a stop at Chinchero — known for its textiles and colonial church — will be included.

In the afternoon, take the Expedition train to Aguas Calientes, the base town for visiting Machu Picchu.

DAY 4:  Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco

• Guided tour of Machu Picchu.

• Free time to explore.

• Train back to Ollantaytambo and transfer to Cusco.

Description:

After breakfast, take the bus up to the entrance of Machu Picchu for a 2 hour guided tour along one of the official circuits. After the tour, you’ll have a bit of free time to continue exploring or simply take in the views.
Then return by bus to Aguas Calientes for a buffet lunch. In the afternoon, take the train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 5:  Flight to Lima – End of Trip

• Transfer to Cusco airport.

• Flight to Lima.
