DAY 1: Arrival in Lima

Upon your arrival in Lima, the capital of Peru, you’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel. This first day is ideal for resting after your journey or, if you have the energy, exploring the Miraflores area, enjoying Peruvian cuisine, or walking through the bohemian district of Barranco.

DAY 2: Flight to Arequipa + City Tour

 

Summary:

Description:

You'll take a flight to the "White City" of Arequipa, located at the foot of the Misti volcano. After checking into your hotel, you’ll enjoy a panoramic city tour, visiting the city’s main historic landmarks and the iconic Santa Catalina Monastery—a city within a city that reveals colonial cloistered life. The tour ends at the traditional Yanahuara viewpoint, with privileged views of the city and surrounding volcanoes.

DAY 3: Journey to Colca Canyon

  • Transfer from Arequipa to the Colca Valley

Description:

Depart Arequipa toward the picturesque town of Chivay, passing through stunning Andean landscapes. Along the way, you’ll cross Yura and the Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve, a natural habitat for vicuñas—native animals prized for their fine wool. The journey continues through Viscachani and Tocra plains, known for their birdlife diversity, and reaches Patapampa (4,800 m), a high-altitude lookout offering panoramic views of volcanoes and the Andes. Finally, you'll arrive in Chivay for lunch and transfer to your hotel.

DAY 4: Condor’s Flight & Journey to the Altiplano

  • Scenic bus journey to Puno across the Andean highlands

 

Description:

Early in the morning, visit the famous Cruz del Cóndor, a natural viewpoint where you can witness the majestic flight of the condors over one of the deepest canyons in the world. Continue through the valley, stopping at scenic lookouts like Antahuilque and Choquetico and passing through charming Andean villages like Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma, and Yanque.

After lunch in Chivay, begin your journey to Puno across the high Andean plains, with panoramic views of volcanoes like Misti, Chachani, and Ampato, as well as expansive grasslands home to vicuñas and highland birds.

In the afternoon, you’ll arrive in Puno, on the shores of the majestic Lake Titicaca.

DAY 5: Tour of Lake Titicaca

Start your day with a guided boat tour on Lake Titicaca (3,810 m / 12,500 ft), one of the most iconic destinations in the Peruvian highlands. The first stop is the Uros Floating Islands, handmade from reeds, where you’ll learn about the ancestral lifestyle of this community. Then continue to Taquile Island (4,040 m / 13,254 ft), renowned for its stunning landscapes and textile traditions, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage. In the afternoon, return to Puno to rest.

DAY 6: From Puno to Cusco via the Route of the Sun

Today, travel the scenic and cultural Route of the Sun, a 10-hour bus journey from Puno to Cusco. Along the way, you’ll make several guided stops to enjoy lunch and visit archaeological sites, museums, and colonial art gems. Highlights include the visit to Andahuaylillas, known for its 17th-century Baroque church, often called the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas.” You'll also explore pre-Inca ruins and enjoy spectacular views of the Andes. In the afternoon, arrive in Cusco and transfer to your hotel.

DAY 7: Sacred Valley Tour + Train to Aguas Calientes

Today, explore the stunning Sacred Valley of the Incas. Begin with a visit to Pisac, known for its mountainside ruins and colorful artisan market. Continue to Ollantaytambo to visit its monumental fortress and stroll through original Inca stone streets.

In the afternoon, board the Expedition train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, the gateway town to Machu Picchu.

DAY 8: Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco

 

Summary:

  • Guided visit of Machu Picchu

  • Return train to Ollantaytambo and bus to Cusco

 

Description:

After breakfast, take a bus up to the entrance of Machu Picchu for a guided tour of approximately 2.5 hours along one of the designated visitor routes. After the guided visit, you'll have some free time to explore on your own or simply marvel at the beauty of this world wonder.

Return to Aguas Calientes by bus and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. In the afternoon, take the train back to Ollantaytambo and continue by bus to Cusco.

DAY 9: Flight to Lima – End of Trip
