If you only have one day in Lima, the capital of Peru, don’t worry. While this city has a lot to offer, it’s possible to enjoy its main highlights in just 24 hours. Here's a guide to help you make the most of Lima in a single day.

Morning: History and Culture

  • 9:00 AM – Plaza Mayor and Historic Center: Head to the heart of Lima to explore the Plaza Mayor, surrounded by the Lima Cathedral, Government Palace, and City Hall. Visit the House of Literature and don’t miss the San Francisco Convent and its famous catacombs.

  • 11:30 AM – Larco Museum in Pueblo Libre: Before lunch, visit the Larco Museum, one of Peru’s most important museums. Here you’ll find an impressive collection of pre-Columbian art, including ceramics, textiles, and artifacts from ancient Peruvian civilizations.

  • 3:00 PM – Walk Through Barranco: Explore Lima’s bohemian neighborhood. Stroll across the Bridge of Sighs, visit the Bajada de los Baños, and discover art galleries and colorful street murals.

  • 5:00 PM – Beach Circuit and Clifftop Views: Take a walk along the Miraflores boardwalk and enjoy stunning views of the Pacific Ocean from the Park of Love (Parque del Amor). If you're feeling adventurous, try paragliding over the cliffs of the Costa Verde.

  • 8:00 PM – Magic Water Circuit (alternative option): If you’d like something different, visit the famous illuminated fountain park, one of Lima’s most popular and photogenic nighttime attractions.

Lima is a vibrant city filled with history, culture, and world-class cuisine. While one day isn’t enough to see it all, this itinerary will let you enjoy some of its very best highlights.

Don’t forget to book your lunch in advance to avoid lines, bring your camera, and come hungry to make the most of your visit!
